A kidnapping:

Jaycee Lee Dugard was the victim of a kidnapping at 11 years old. Jaycee was taken on June 10th of 1991, in South Lake Tahoe, California. Jaycee’s parents had moved to Sout Lake Tahoe with the hope of safety for their child.

Jaycee was walking to the bus stop. It was a warm and sunny day there in California. Jaycee was halfway to her bus stop when a car had pulled up beside her. Jaycee thought that it was a person just asking for directions. Before Jaycee could say anything, she fell to the ground, paralyzed. She had been tased by a man named Phillip Garrido. When Jaycee was tased, she had fallen unconscious and had wet her pants.

Jaycee’s stepfather saw the kidnapping and hopped on a bike to chase the car. The car was going too fast to even see the license plate.

The kidnapper was not alone. His wife, Nancy Garrido, was in the car at the time of the kidnapping. Nancy was actually the one that found Jaycee. Nancy had prepared the capture of Jaycee as a gift for her husband.

When Jaycee woke up, she told the kidnappers that her parents can not afford a ransom. Jaycee was terrified, and the thought of freedom kept her alive. The couple took her to their home after they captured her.
